Project
Dhra
Project Dhra, is a commendable initiative by TEAM ENACTUS which aims to replace plastic ware with earthenware, thereby combatting plastic waste and pollution while simultaneously providing the Potter community with a sustainable source of income. The Potter community, after being relocated to the outskirts of Chandigarh, faced significant unemployment challenges, especially during non-festive seasons. Recognizing their plight and the escalating use of plastics, team enactus stepped in to bridge the potters with the earthenware market. They provided training in new production technologies, thereby improving both their working and living conditions, ultimately elevating their social status and financial well-being. Project Dhra also acquired advanced machinery to enhance the quality and appeal of earthenware products. Moreover, the project has expanded its sales channels by establishing partnerships with local food establishments, ensuring a consistent flow of orders and income for the participating potters. 'EARTHEN PEACE' represents a commendable effort with positive implications for both the environment and the pottery community
